I would have to look at where it's reported as I use turbo tax for my taxes. I'm sure it must put it in as interest the not 1098/99 was received for as it always asks questions like " is there any other interest you need to claim" - then when you would answer "yes" it would ask for an explanation of what the interest is for and I would select from the choices the most appropriate answer.
