Yalls,I have a class-a that does not have a ladder on the back. I can't really install one either because it's a toy hauler. So, I'm looking for a ladder I can keep in the RV somewhere that I can use to get on the roof, and/or at least reach the top of the windows to wash them.What ladders are you all packing with you if you need/want one? I keep looking at them and I'm not sure I need a 13 foot telescoping ladder for $220. A tall(ish) step ladder seems like the way to go, but how/where do I store something like that? If your intent is to wash windows the folding step ladders (6' or 7') are very handy & easy to store. If you want to get on/off the coach roof SAFELY the telescoping ladder really should go a couple feet beyond the roof. If your coach is 12' a 13' telescoping ladder would be too short in my opinion. I carry a 15'6" telescoping ladder.

I don’t have your problem, but a quick search on Lowes shows both telescoping and folding ladders for much less money. Their folding ones can be used as a step ladder or an extension. I would have thought that having a toy hauler you could put it in the garage, but maybe it’s full of toys.And not to pick a nit... Y’all is already plural. AAHAHAH!! Yall is plural already. What if you're speaking to multiple distinct groups. Is that multiple Yall's then? I'm from the north, I don't know these things. :)

Yup, I've looked at the Lowes ones. Just not sure which to go with. I'm looking to see what other people have and their experiences are. I suspect I'll get a variaty and everyone will have their reasons. That's what I'm after.

I carried a 7 foot step ladder in the back of my pick-up truck for years. I could not get on the roof of the trailer with it, but it was high enough I could reach the top of the slides to brush them off. If I needed on the roof, I'd wait till I got home and then used my 14 foot ladder.

My current 5er has a ladder and it's sooooooo much nicer now to be able to get up there any time, and sooooo much nicer climbing up there now to brush off the slides standing on the roof.

I now carry a 3 step, step ladder we use in the kitchen inside to reach the upper cabinets, and I have a 5 step step ladder I use for climbing in the back of the truck now, since I have high bed sides on my truck.

I would suggest getting on of those 16 foot ladders that fold into 4 feet. You can fold them in half and have an 8 foot step ladder, or use them extended and have all 16 feet. Very versatile, and you can use them for anything ... more than just your camper.

Store them in the camper garage, even if you have to add hooks to the wall to transport them.

One like this:

I have several step ladders at home, ranging from 3 feet to 14 feet, and single straight ladders 16 feet long. I use them all, and every one of them comes in handy around the house. I have the two dedicated to the camper and pick-up truck.

Yes, they all cost $$$$, more than I wanted to at the time I bought them. But in the long run, it was well worth it. A good ladder is worth every penny spent on it. Don't go cheap. You'll pay for it later.

Thanks! Yeah, something like that was on my short list for sure. I'm trying not to clutter up my garage with stuff. My wife is a triathlete so, that's where her bikes and all her gear goes. That's her changing/prep room, it's where I fix/adjust her bike, and where she does her pre-race spinning. So, I'd like to keep it as open as I can for all of that.

Do you weigh 300# ?

If not , I doubt you need to spend much over $150 for a good Tele steps extension ladder
