Leak in the roof

Eternabond has a number of good products. Look on their web site and call them if you have questions.

Do a search on You tube. They have some awesome videos on repairing RV leaks. I personally use dicor lap sealant to seal my Rv. Also there is alot of info on eternabond for RV repairing. Search it on you tube.

The first thing you'll have to do is find where the water is coming from. I found the roof leaks in the rig I bought by getting on the roof with a garden hose and wet down a small area at a time until I found where the water was leaking in.

A pressurized bubble test will show you where the leak is. Either have an RV shop do it...some Camping Worlds can do this...or read

I agree taking a hose to the roof may help you find the leak but I think I would climb up there and look at all my vents, ac, antennas.... If the caulking is cracking get some Dicor lap sealant and go at it. Check around all the windows too, still use Dicor but not self level for sides. After you have done all that then pull the hose out or next rain be inside looking.

You said it was coming in thru a light switch so it's in the wall before you see it at the switch..... That's why I would caulk the heck out of it first and then check, no need to let more water in. When it stops maybe try to look behind and see if there's any damage or extra clean up needed. Maybe just to fix and dry out will be fine. Good luck!

The light switch is on the ceiling from a fluorescent light. So the roof is where I will start and than hit the windows. I was researching and so many products came up I am looking for which is best and easiest to use for a rookie like me.

Pressure test cost about $100 and will take the guess work out of leaks - in an older rig your likely to find multiple leaks (windows, roof, etc) and finding and fixing the leaks is going to save you future headaches.

I had a local dealer do the pressurized test to find frontal leak and it solved my leak problem. I now use Eternabond on the permiter seams. EB is the best product for long term fix.

I use EternaBond roof tape and Dicor caulk.
