American Coach tradition is a good coach. Nice solid liberty chassis(designed and produced in collaboration with spartan). 400 Hp cummins. I think they made those with a 15K hitch, most others had 10K. An upgrade on that model was the 10K genny, 7.5K if no upgrade.
If you have the ability to do what smitty said, I would do it.
the price is pretty good. there's a 2007 in my city, 41.3K miles, going for $140K, and a 2005 going for $101K. Good luck.
  • About 7 years ago, we looked at an 05 42' Tradition 4 slide. At that time we weren't looking to hard but it definitely was a nice coach. We had an 03 Tradition with Walnut interior and thought pretty highly of it, except it was the 2 slide model with the narrow kitchen slide and we outgrew it. It had the ISC 350 and had lots of power. Otherwise it was a good coach. It should be on a Spartan chassis with the IFS front suspension. The cherry woodwork on the one we looked at was very good and had lots of storage, both interior and underneath. At the time, customer service and Tech assistance through American was superb. Can't speak to the same under REV now. If it's like Monaco customer service through REV, it has gone downhill quite a bit. We liked our Tradition alot and would recommend looking at any of the American line. I would recommend checking the exterior for signs of delamination, and that is the time period that they were having the fiberglass checking in the darker colors. Hope this may help. Happy Trails Bert
  • If it has the Cummins 8.9 ISL, get the engine Serial Number, and see if the engine falls within the suspect Wrist Pins series of ISL's. If so, it would be a negotiation point. At least enough off of price, to cover an extended warranty to handle problems from a failure related to the Wrist Pins.

Not up on American Coaches enough to help you with any more input specific to that rig.

    Best of luck to you,
    Smitty
