Low Tire Pressure
Could someone tell me if there are safety problems or dangers going a short distance with a low tire pressure on one of the rears?

Well said... If you have duals and you are talking about say a quarter mile with one of them low (Far enough to get off the road).. I'd say no.
If you are talking maxed out tires,,, YES.
Example.. I once moved a trailer about 10 feet.. That's all it took. Had to put the spare on and get the original replaced.
Years later,..,., Same trailer... Stripped down to just the shell and used as a utility trailer popped a valve stem.
I drive a few miles before I was able to drop it and go for the spare.
Replaced valve stem and tire survived.
Of course the trailer was empty at the time.
And within a month I scrapped the trailer.
