LP GAS ISSUE

I do understand the dealer imperative to service what they sell. I am a full timer and am not likely to be near my selling dealer when I need service. Therefore I support those dealers who are responsive to fts and mention those who are less friendly.

xctraveler, I think that "fit you in" service plan is pretty much the same for every dealer when you don't buy from them. I know that has happened to me. One of our former illustrious Louisiana governors once said if you are with me early, you get a friend, but if you are with me late, you get good government. Dealerships are pretty much the same - they are a lot friendlier if you buy from them. Glad you found a good one. Probably worth buying from them.

Interestingly, the Fleetwood was our first RV. Never even drove one before it. Some friends got us hooked with one night's stay with them lakbyefront and the rest of the story moved fast. Speaking of Lazydays, never been treated better at an RV shop in my life!! Wonderful facilities, great people. They actually do what they are supposed to do without being asked to do so!! If you are thinking about changing units, check them out. You get it all for no more money. Scott Aszman, Crown Club Sales, is the best. Even the service techs went out of their way to see that you were happy with your unit. 126 acres of live oaks with RVs under them.

Crown Club is great, they treated me there one time after really messing me up another time. Don't try to get any immediate service there if you didn't buy from them. I called for help with my ac/heat pump and they couldn't see me for 3 weeks once I told them I wasn't Crown Club. LaMesa in Sanford took me immediately and had us in and out, with a new ac/hp in 3 days. The only wait as for shipping. And they took care of my Good Sam Extended Service Plan as well.

That must have been pretty scary with the train incident!

We spent three days at Lazydays in Tampa a few years ago just using it as a campground to explore the area. Of course we checked out their RV's and weren't pestered by sales people.

Well, the shoe finally dropped on the real problem. Turns out that the quick connect gadget between the main valve and the regulator has a shut off mechanism in it that is meant to stop the flow of gas if the hose from the quick disconnect to a crawfish pot, bbq pit, whatever, is cut. That fitting was faulty!!! Its redundant anyway because the main valve has one of these built into it also. I suspected this and went looking for a replacement at my local Steve's Ace Hardware. One of those hardware stores that carries most things you will ever need. The guy there knew exactly what i was talking about and told me that most of the time when someone comes in with my problem, that valve is bad. He was spot on. Replaced it with one without the shutoff built in and the gas works fine. The one i replaced is called an excess flow fitting and is shown at this location. Looks the same but without the internal thing. Not sure how the following link works - you may have to copy it into your address bar.
