Lumbar support

Now the front drivers and passengers seats in the MH are real comfortable, except there isn't any lumbar support. I definitely miss it after having it in our cars. Other than buying a higher end coach ( going to the RV show tomorrow - just to look :B), what do you people use if anything? Any thing over a hour drive starts to be a real pain in the arse.

The seat is fully adjustable otherwise, you would think that feature would be a good thing.

I did look at Amazon, it is a lot to look at. Anyone else have this problem?
  • Frind of mine that was in the same position (hahaha get it?) had adjustable lumbar supports installed in his original seats. Worked out fine and not that expensive considering the options.
  • One word. Sacroease. Amazon and some better buys on EBay which is where I got my current one.
  • I had an air powered lumbar support installed on my driver's seat in Red Bay, AL, but I would think there shops all over the country that can do it.

In my case the installer laid the seat back all the way flat, opened the bottom of the upholstery, inserted an air bladder, and closed the opening. He then installed a small 12V pump under the seat connecting it to the incoming seat adjustment power source, and installed an inflate and deflate switch on the side of the seat next to the other seat controls. Works like a charm.
  • Got a lumbar support pillow (foam covered in material) at Walgreens for my wife. She has used it for years and loves it!
  • There is no law that you must keep the seats that came with the coach. Much cheaper to replace them with seats more to your liking from the aftermarket.
  • I ordered custom made seats for my coach after yanking out the uncomfortable Flexsteel junk. If you go to a place that makes captains chairs, you can order the type of foam, etc, to make the seat just what you need for a comfortable ride.
I eventually had spinal fusion surgery and now the seats are even more comfortable.
  • Any good upholstery shop can add lumbar support and have them add massage and heat for the full treatment.

We did this also. Makes driving much more comfortable.

You might also consider getting seat heaters installed at the same time. We wanted to do that, but unfortunately the seats we have did not allow for them.
