M/H to Toad Braking Systems

Thanks to all who responded, lots to consider. I think I like the Invisibrake option.

I believe this is partly because it mounts onto the brake master cylinder, makes the master cylinder protrude further out by a few inches as a result. If there isn't enough clearance for the master cylinder to protrude out a few more inches, M&G will not work. There's probably other more technical reasons why M&G is incompatible in many cases, but its definitely something you need to check into and research before plunking down the $$ on an expensive system like that.

With how tight I've seen things are under the hood with many newer vehicles, I'm amazed M&G can work with ANY modern vehicle, haha. :)

Just a point about these kind of threads. When the question is asked in almost every case the posters that answer will recommend the system they have. It is VERY unlikely that any of them has had experience with other systems just the one they have. Just something to consider when making the choice for your needs.

All the other INSTALLED systems that are BOLTED into the vehicle.

And on my NON recommended list are things like Even Brake, Brake Buddy, and so on where you put a box in the driver's seat and it pushes the pedal.

Too easy to screw up if you are in a hurry or even to just say "Forget it" and regret later.

Thanks for the info! I think I'm going with this set up on my CRV and I'm also going to run a live battery wire back to the toad!

I also upgraded from the 4 wire to 6 wire cable. 4 wires for the lights, 1 for battery charge and 1 to the MH dash for the toad brakes. For years I did not have the battery charge wire, didn't disconnect the fuse and never had any battery problems.

If you camp more than a couple times a year shoving that BB in and out of your Toad every time you use it gets REAL old and hard on the back.

My Toad was a Tracker and I had to just about get on my hands and knees to get that Brake Buddy in, adjusted, clamped on, tested etc.

Hmmmm I have two bad knees that need surgery,a tear in shoulder rotator cup,a hip that is going to need replacement due to a motorcycle accident years ago and a problem with a disc in my back and have no problem hooking up my brake buddy on my wrangler. With that said I just got a used DP and I'm going to upgrade yo some sort of air system.

If you had not already gotten your tow bar Ready Brake (With the matching tow bar)

For MH's w/o air brakes US-Gear unified brake decelerator
