Melted front ABS Sensors

I cooked my ABS sensors and the culprit was calipers sticking. I had all new brakes put on while at a CG in Sevierville. Returned home and the recall notice was in my mailbox.

Three weeks at the Ford dealer. Got new front rotors, brake calipers, pads, and sensors. Result $2400 poorer, but back up and running.

Winnebago had a big brake recall due to faulty Bosch Calipers it was in the 2000 to 2010 decade, you can look it up on the net. On my coach brake pads, ABS Sensor, and new calipers were installed and paid for by Winnebago/Bosch! Hope this helps you!

x2 on riding brakes from previous owner. The brakes on your model year are a great system, unlike the older F-53 (97ish). Get new pads. When you remove the pads check all the rubber boots that cover the guide bolts, they may have melted too.

Guess I should have specified that I took the MH in for the ABS Light and had the complete service at the same time.

Did you look at the paperwork? My neighbor got his brake fluid changed, according to the shop. He showed me the service ticket/invoice. The problem was that the shop ONLY charged him for ONE quart of fluid. Most Class A's take at least 3 quarts of fluid to do a complete flush of all old brake fluid. One quart is fine for bleeding the brakes and maybe getting some fluid out of the calipers, but to do a complete brake flush, a minimum of three quarts is necessary.

Since you wrote sensors, as in both, suspect the prior owner may have used the brakes a bit hard on a long down hill drive. It can happen and will usually graze the pads and possibly warp the disks. A full service was a good call. For your chassis model year I haven't read of other posting problems considering my coach is also built on a F53 so I watch for potential issues. Suspect this was owner/driver induced.

Happened to me one time caliper problem and it was fixed for me free from Winnebago.
