Mounting TV on Wall

I have almost that exact floorplan and put the TV there too. A few simple steps. First, a 1x4 of ash is cut to length so it fits snuggly between the bed and upper cabinet. Then I stained and finished the board to match.

Next I mounted the TV mount securely to the board.

The board is then snugged into place between the bed and the cabinet bottom and two screws - one angled into the bed wood and the other into the cabinet frame now secure the 1x4 to the RV.

Nothing is glued or drilled up much. The board and TV mount can be easily removed and two screw holes filled.

I can post pictures if you want them.

With the weight of todays TV's and that wall with a cabinet on the other side I would use a swivel mount with a 1/4" plywood or light weight metal back on both sides of the wall. With that much backing on both sides you could hang a lot of weight. Or like others have said IF there id a metal stringer on that outside wall metal screws would also do. With the prewired area I'll bet there is also a backer for the TV mount also and as said earlier a stud finder will locate it.

Looks to me like you could use bolts right through the wall and the nuts would be hidden in the cabinet on the back side of the wall. With some fat washers you would probably be fine without much more reinforcement.

This what I would do. Ask for "fender" washers and acorn nuts for inside the cabinet.

In our 2004 Tioga 26Q, our bedroom TV is a light weight 23" flat panel Vizio that sits on a shelf in the bedroom when parked or lays on the bed when underway. We originally had a 13" CRT type TV and a strap that held it steady on the shelf while underway.

We still have a 13" CRT TV in the small cabinet that is attached to the right side of the overhead bed.

I have a TV in the BR and one in the dinette area. In both cases, they're small flat screen TVs. In the BR, there is a shelf that folds out to hold a regular square TV. I was able to bolt a wall mount TV bracket on the fold out shelf there and then fold it back up. I did the same thing on a cabinet door facing the dinette area. That door was hinged at the top, so I mounted the bracket on it. A bonus was that I was also able to place a DVD player inside the cabinet and hook it and the coax cable to the TV.
Both are small TVs, but in both cases, I'm pretty close to the screen.

Looking at the floorplan, I would assume the TV would be mounted on what appears to be a cabinet. Have you checked to see if there is any reinforcement built into that cabinet, that would support the TV ? Your best bet, if there isn't any support there, is to call Fleetwood, or just build in some support yourself.

Perhaps you could use a mount that hangs down from the overhead cabinetry. The bottom (floor?) of the cabinet must be designed to support some weight for the cabinet to be of any use whatsoever.

To mount a new shelf that would need to support a coffee service, we were able to place a sheet of plywood inside a bathroom cabinet on the opposite side of the wall. Then 4 wingnuts on 1/4" bolts through the wall hold it just fine.
