musical Thumb drive usb port

My mom just bought a 2016 Minnie Winnie and I want to give her a mix of traveling songs and music. Because she lives far from me, I cannot see the hardware set up for gadgets. What I want to do is to send her a thumb drive/memory stick that she can stick into a usb port that's connected to the front sound system. Will this plan work? Thanks.

I use the real short versions that barely protrude from the port. Less chance of breakage.

darsben has the best answer - If the unit has a USB port. Just load everything as MP3 and forget about it. You really do want multiple drives to select music type. 2G is great and you can buy a bunch.

Remember, You want to load some "road music" and some "evening music" and they will NOT be the same.

We attach our sound to the navigator laptop and let the navigator pick the program. I hope I never have to travel alone.

It depends on the features of the sound system installed. I can do what you would want to do with the radio installed in my 2012 Honda Fit (Base), but not with the radio installed in my 2013 E-350 XLT van. I would have been able to do so if I had the Ford upgrade radio with Sync; a lot of other things as well.

Winnebago takes delivery of E-series cab cutaways with the RV package, which includes no radio. Winnebago chooses a radio from a third party to install. See if she can tell you the model number of the radio, so you can check the manufacturer for the features provided.

I looked up the specs on 2016 Minnie Winnie on Winnebago's site. Here is what it said under Cab Conveniences:

...

Her unit may not have a USB port in the cab, but it looks like she could play music (or audio books or whatever) via an MP3 player or and iPod. That might require a cord.

Can she send you a photo of her sound system? Or a photo of the appropriate page in the owner's manual? Then you will know what you are working with.

My 2012 daily driver car has a cord with a USB port on it that goes into the glove box. I plug a flash drive in there and can play almost endless music, no ads, no static. It is wonderful. Sadly, my older RV truck chassis does not provide such delights.

Yes, so long as the receiver has a built-in player for USB drives.

Get her a IPod Shuffle. $49 and hold 2GIG of info. Lots of songs 15 hours worth.
