My 2009 is now a 2008 according to California DMV

Go to a dealer and purchase a 2014 Caddilac. when the title comes and it says 2013 let me know your thoughts.

I called Winnebago and they asked for the serial number of the chassis and the house and the certificate of origin was e-mailed to me the next

day. Winnie also provided contact information if there was any questions. AAA really made it so easy, their DMV program is great. I have rarely waited

more than 15 minutes verses the tortuous DMV office ,even though I make an appointment. Minnesota AAA does not do DMV . My visit to their DMV

for a trip permit was easy and simple. Why does Ca. always seem to make it difficult?

We had the same problem, finally got it sorted out with both DMV and AAA.Had to provide a copy of original sales order to AAA which showed the correct housebox year model so they would insure it as a 2004 instead of a 2003. If you buy a new rig, save your sales order/contract as proof of actual RV year to show to new buyer when you sell your rig.

Title came in the mail today and it is a 2009. Geez Louise....

I came "this close" to that happening to me. The DMV guy gave me the paperwork to "check over" and I caught them making it a 2013 rather than a 2014. I said sorry it's a 2014 NOT a 2013, he said the Vehicle is a 2013, I said YES but the RV is a 2014...he made the change while I stood there. WHEW, because i hear it's miserable changing it after you walk out.

So i received my title in the mail and it had 2008 Itasca on there. AAA said when I get the title to come in and they will re submit the paperwork to have it changed.

So the nice lady says, "do you have the coach here" "we have to verify the serial number". I replied that they already did when they issued the other registration and title.

I was told" 'this is a new transaction, we have to start over" Wait. Two of your employees verified the VIN and DMV accepted that, are you sure? NO. But DMV requires it.

Hilarious. Soher and I agreed to submit the new paperwork to DMV with the certificate of origin from Winnebago and if they don't accept it we will then have to "start

over"

And verify the serial number. Through this AAA nice lady assured me that they handle these "all the time" and are "fully aware of the law" .

For those not familiar with California DMV, AAA processes DMV for the state . I think it is one of the few states that allow it. I think the other states would rather have you

come in so they can torture you themselves. I look at this as humorous, I will get my title, not sure when but ohh well......

Most states treat motor homes as multi stage vehicles. My wife worked for Wi DMV and the title shows both vehicles, the chassis and 2nd stage mfr. it is hard to get it right, but having copies of both certificates of origin will help.
