Once you get several posters focusing on that single attribute, as happened in this thread, some people may put too much focus on it. At $200+K for the rig, even 8 new tires is less than 3% of the cost of the rig, and it sounds like this rig, provided it is in good shape is priced well enough that the tires wouldn't make or break the deal for me.westernrvparkowner wrote:
I know everyone focuses on tires, but remember, they are easy to replace. I sure wouldn't let the tires on a rig be my determining factor. You can change tires, but you can't change floorplans, transmissions, engines and the like. Navigators are great rigs, if there isn't a major problem, it sounds like a good deal. (but then again it could be the lime green twin to that other rig, or maybe hit more times than Joe Louis, you never know till you see it in person).
I agree that tires are not the most important factor but it's going to cost about $6,100 for a new set of Michelins (8) for that coach. Just something to keep in mind for negotiationg purposes.
