Need help with camping near Denver CO please

The hotel we stayed at is across the street from the Children's hospital and I didn't see any RV parking. In fact parking is a real premium, way more cars than parking spots. Thanks for the tip and I will call and ask. Thanks again.

May want to call the hospital at one time Children's hospital had RV parking which is in the same complex as University. We stayed there several years ago while being treated at University.

Stand guard at that spot. I want it!!!! That, from the picture, looks like our kind of campground. No ones really close to you, it appears. I really like "Open" style camping! These ones that look and feel like a Home Depot parking lot are not on the top of my list. I will definitely look into this one, thanks a great heap.

To All who have responded,
I (we) surely want to thank all of you for posting your experiences and thoughts on this issue. One can read in books and reviews but, nothing like personal, first hand experience dictating the conditions. A big problem that we have in our travels is, about 95% of the time, we don't have specific dates, times and places to stop at or, visit, or stay at etc.

We know we're going to head out on a "range" of dates, meaning we most of the time, don't have an exact departure date. And, we don't have an itinerary (for the most part) when it comes to, how far we're going to drive in one day, it could be 300 miles or, it could be 50. It depends if we've been on that route or, in the area before and know it. So, what that means is, we quite often, have no reservations anywhere.

Now, that, sometimes, ends up being a problem towards the end of the day, when we're trying to find a place to stay, either for the one day or, maybe more than that. But, depending on just how nice a place is, and or, if it's near lots of attractions or good destination spots, than it can be crowded for a large percentage of the time.

So, we'll call the places all of you have mentioned, ask for a possibility of reservations in a given range of time and, see how it goes. Again, thank you all, very, very much for taking the time to respond and help here. That's great!

Another vote for Cherry Creek. If you are planning on 9 or more days purchase an annual vehicle pass, cheaper than the $9 per day.

Only staying for 2 or 3 days, we will be going back in August.

Colorado State Parks limit stays to 14 days.
