New AXIS

Hi there,
I'm thinking of getting my first new RV, a Class A Axis 2015 25' by Thor. On a lot of Forums, I read a ton of negative posts about the Thor company and Camping World. That's exactly through whom I would buy. They made me a great price offer, even a great offer for my old 1991 Spirit.
Will retire in 4 years and plan to go camping much more extensively.
Any Comments on what I should look for or other buying tips?
Thanks for all your input.

From an RV techs perspective. We get several Thor products in for repairs every week. Most of them are fairly quick fixes, but they are notorious for repairs. (And yes we get just as many Fleetwood Discovery, Expedition, and Excursions) also. Working for a dealer that is just 90 miles (or so) from a Camping World. I would never recommend them (when you can drive another 2 hours and buy from us).

In all honosty, If you like the AXIS, buy the AXIS! A lot of problems are brought on ourself. If you expect complete perfection. Go buy a Rembrandt! If you are willing to live with a few imperfections. Buy ANY brand! If you are willing to fiddle a bit, then any RV will be good.

Thank you so much for your input. Makes me feel more at ease. I was looking at Fleetwood as well. Will go to CW tomorrow to have a closer inspection on the AXIS. I'm taken by the nice layout and the @hidden@ permanent bed situation. Don't get younger to climb the ladder for going to bed. The huge windshield and 180 de. view makes it very attractive.
Thanks again for your post.

We have a new Axis, and we did buy from Camping World. It's our fifth RV, and I wouldn't say we had any worse experience there than anywhere else. My biggest gripe is that they didn't clean it well at all before we took possession. As far as quality, we have had almost no problems. We had a shower enclosure that gaped from the wall a bit. We fixed it ourselves. We have gone camping twice and tried everything out, and just no issues.

Our last RV was a Fleetwood, and boy did we hear negative things about Fleetwood. I'm glad we ignored them, because we had very good luck with it, trading it only because we now need/want a permanent bed set-up.

It's subjective opinion, but I'm not a fan of CW and like you have not heard much good about Thor, although they own a ton of names and sell a lot of products. Have you looked at Jayco? Ours has been trouble free, although not everybody can say the same, especially with the new ones. Check reviews of any dealer you buy from, not matter what brand.
