New Bilstein shock

I understand Bilstein has a new shock for motorhomes. Has anyone added them or studied them and if so how do they compare to the Koni FSD in producing a softer ride.
  • Thanks LVJ58. I just traded for a Itasca Suncruiser 38Q. I have added Kelderman air bags to my previous coaches and liked that and may need to the same here. This one is heavier however and I wondered if just shocks would get me there with less hassle. Koni always seemed to be a good addition and I was wondering about Bilstein. Has anyone added this Comfitrac?

Goldencrazy, I noticed Bilstein now has a new shock, called the "Comfitrac" which I believe may be comparable to the Koni FSD. The FSD stands for Frequency Sensitive Dampening.

Here's a link to Bilstein's site and the Comfitrac schok..

    Good luck with your choice..:)

  • No experience with the Bilstiens other than the research I did. That was last year. Bought the Koni's and they are a dream compared to the Sachs that came from the factory. Know nothing of the new Bilsteins, but if had to do it over again the Koni's would be my choice. My theory is if it works and your happy, don't screw with it.
  • I didn't see anything about any NEW Bilstein shock for RV's. Their current shocks are nitrogen charged to 360 psi and this is what makes them transfer the small road joint and other bumps right back to the coach. The Koni FSD shocks are NOT gas charged and dampen the smaller bumps better for me.
