New bunk side windows in 2011 Jayco 26DS

My sister will be my future main traveling companion and sleeps in the front bunk. I used to have a hybrid and she really liked all of the windows. Well, I bought the C for a variety of reasons, this particular one since I don't have to worry about the front window leaking since there is none. However, I did not notice the configuration on the side windows. To make a long story short, I am going to try to replace the "hinged at the top" windows on the side with ones that slide so that she can get more of a breeze. This would be a small concession for me since she already does not like getting up and down from there. I know that it will cost, but getting this for her is worth it.

So, question: what type of business would I contact to get this done? It is fiberglass or something else?
  • Another window brand to check on is 'Hehr'.

Jim, "One good turn.... gets most of the blanket."
  • Thanks. I am handy so this might be a possibility.

Yup, the swivel chair is still working. I kept the picture onboard, JIC.
  • Atwood makes most of the windows that are installed in RVs.

They have replacements for just about everything, you can order what you want from them, just use the instructions in the link or give them a call they are very helpful.

If you are handy you can do it your self or as mentioned have a shop do it.

For more ventilation and you could always put One of these in the door too.

PS I hope that swivel chair is still working..
  • I would suggest you consult your owners Manuel to find the manufacture of your windows to see if they have a slider with the same profile as your current hinged ones. if you are handy in the ways of RV repairs it would be an easy way to do the change over; otherwise your best bet would be to take it to an RV sales/maintenance shop.
