- tpiExplorerAll seven replaced at local Ford truck center at no charge. Service adviser told me Friday the recall is also now through Ford.
As expected the new tires drive just fine. - hindesExplorerSeven of my tires will be replaced on Monday! My rear tires were really cracking and they only have about 11,000 miles on them. My dealer said Michelin will pay for everything, so I am a happy man!
Jim - CbtEngr1ExplorerAlways late to the ball...guess I'll be calling a tire shop tomorrow. Thanks all for the info, Very helpful!
- triple602ExplorerLocal shop replaced 6, the 7th (spare) is on backorder. Only put about 15 miles on M/S2's but they seemed fine.
- Desert_CaptainExplorer IIIIAMICHABOD, Thank You!
That is exactly the chart I was seeking. Based upon that data I am going to go with 55 psi on all six. This should be a good compromise between ride/handling and load capacity with a roughly 10+% fudge factor all around. If I ever find myself loading significantly more weight it will be a simple matter to add 5 to 10 psi as needed. :C - IAMICHABODExplorer II

Somewhere on this Forum (but I cannot find it), is a chart showing psi to load. Anyone know where I can get a look at it to check my numbers? The new tires are rated at 2680# at 80 psi for singles and 2470# at 80 psi for duals. :?
How bout this one
Michelin load chart - Desert_CaptainExplorer IIIIt turns out the C did come with M/S's not the M/S 2's that I had put on my truck. With a manufacture date of 1111 we are smack in the middle of the recall. Have an appointment for tomorrow at nine for 6 new M/S 2's on Michelin's dime.
GVWR is 11,500 - FAWR is 4200 - RAWR is 7800. Last trip to the scale in the middle of the trip with a normal load we weighed 10,050# (nice to know I still had another 1500# of payload available). The door sticker calls for 65 PSI front and rear but since we are nowhere near max load I am thinking probably will get a smoother ride and a little better handling at around 50 to 60 PSI. :h

I love my M/S 2's, put them on my last truck (now sold), and our new to us Class C came with them. I thought we were outside of the recall but got the notification letter about our C on Saturday. I'll be making an appointment this morning to get all six replaced at my local tire shop. They have 15,000+ (now free), miles on them and look and ride great but it will be nice to get six brand new tires installed on Michelin's dime. You gotta love a company that stands behind their products. :C
If your tires are actually the M/S2 I wouldn't get too excited yet.
I believe the recall is just for the old M/S, not the M/S2.
Of course your rig being a 2012, you very well may have the defective M/S tires as they were manufactured all the way into June 2012.
Good luck and I hope you have defective tires. :B
I know felt like it was the best thing that has ever happened. - dcasonExplorerWOW, the dot codes match two of our tires. Is this like winning the lottery?
Thanks for the info...we appreciate that. - Desert_CaptainExplorer IIII love my M/S 2's, put them on my last truck (now sold), and our new to us Class C came with them.
