New Rv radio

Looking to get a new radio to replace my Jensen in my motorhome. I went online and was in awe of all the different features on the new radios. Some of them also have a GPS built into them. Any recommendation from this site?

Indash GPS units are intended for passanger cars.
For RVs people really should be using truck or RV modes to allow the GPS to safely route them avoiding narrow bridges and low overhangs.

In Addition some RV/Truck units allow you to input your height so as to avoid routings with low clearance. Some also have great campground/truck stop poi's built in

I like having an mp3 input jack on the front or even in the back where you can hang a cable out for connecting to a player of some sort. Some have an mp3 disk player as well and here you can make your disks with your computer and have at least 100 songs on each CD.

Look at a local Audio store, find what you like, and get them in install it with a granatee that it will work.

I replaced the in-dash TomTom that came in my RV with the Kenwood DNX571HD as I'm much more of a Garmin fan. Love it so much I just finished putting a Kenwood DNX573S in my Jeep Wrangler. This is the 2016 replacement for the DNX571. Have the steering wheel controls on the Wrangler and they all work along with the new backup camera.

Map updates come from Kenwood though, not Garmin, and the Garmin ones are not directly downloadable into these units. (I did figure out how to load them though.) As I recall the map updates from Kenwood for these units are fee but they only come once a year, not 4 times a year like Garmin.

not a chance in ell I would pay $600+ for dash radio/gps and does not even have a xm radio tuner in it

Both the DNX571HD and DNX573S are HD with SiriusXM in addition to GPS and bluetooth phone connections. My only complaint with SiriusXM was I couldn't get them to sign me up for the package I wanted with the new unit. They insisted that I take advantage of their "3 months for free" offer than has me paying an additional 3 months for a bunch of **** I don't listen to. The DNX573S also connects to the vehicle's data bus and displays all sorts of vehicle info. It has more features than the DNX571HD which is a 2014 model. As for price, shop around. I got mine for under $600.

The situation with diverting attention to radio and particularily GPS and phone could be easily address with heads up winds shield display.
It is now somewhat common, BMW has and some models of Mercedes. I'm sure there are others. The bit of technology is just a holographic projector.
Unless the Patent Holders have a very high price, it should not cost that much to produce, and could even be retrofitted to our older units, if they design a module.Wiring for inexperienced would take a bit of work just like installing a new radio with more outputs.
See your selected info on the windshield right in front of you but incorporate button controls not the maze like method of a touch screen, with multiple layers and tracks to controls and info.

I am interested in replacing my radio too. Where did you purchase the BOSS radio? Is there direct sales?

I am looking for one with a USB port so I can connect my MP3 to it. I know MP3 is old technology, but so am I.

I just recently replaced my in dash radio in my DP. I ordered a BOSS am/fm/cd with a touch screen for a little over $100. It was quite easily installed and is a huge improvement for our coach.
