New TV

If the "round" antenna you refer to worked on the old TV, and there is no cable problem, the antenna should work. There is no difference for the antenna to deliver analog or digital tv signals. The older round antennas did not capture signals very well though, so you might need a newer amplified antenna that rotates to the direction of the tower.

You need to determine that you are getting a signal to the TV. How many OTA stations should you be able to receive in Morris?? The question is not whether the antenna will work with the tv, but rather does the antenna work at all. Digital signals and analog signals are both the same thing, RF signals in the UHF range. The newer antennas usually are tuned a bit better for the digital signals, but if sufficient signal is available, the older ones will deliver a signal to the TV. Did you get any signal on our old TV before you replaced it??

as far as a signal on the old tv, none. I bought a digital converter months ago and couldn't locate a signal then. How would I check my coaxial cable to be sure it is good?

Checking a coax is just like checking any other wire. you will need some type of device to check continuity, I prefer a vol-ohmmeter, but a light bulb and battery will do the job. It is more difficult to work by yourself, as usually you can't be on both ends of the wire at the same time. Try this. Disconnect both ends of the coax from wherever they are connected to. Use the meter on one end to see if there are any shorts in the coax. There should not be any connection between the core wire and the shield at all. If not, go to the other end and connect the core wire to the shield (outside part of connector). then at the first end, your meter should show a completed circuit between the core wire and the shield(outside of connector). If it does, the wire is good. Sounds like the TV is not the problem.

when did a zip code start allowing a TV to accept FTA channels from a Roof antenna in a MH?
To me based on the OP,s own posts its more than apparent his Roof top antenna simply does not work.
assuming he has set his new TV to antenna and its not set on cable?

On my set up, there is a little button right on the antenna lead hook up plate. This is the outlet plate where you screw on the wire that is coming from the TV. It is actually a built in signal amplifier. If you don't push it, you will not get a signal at all.

Come to think of it there is a little red light that used to be lite at the cable/ant switch, now it does not lite up since I was messing with the recepticle under that same wall cabinet. Might be a power problem. Will check tonight

yes Jim is correct.I just assumed you have owned this unit for along time and used tv.s before that this would be automatic.Make sure as I posted the TV is also set to outside antenna and not left on Cable setting
