We have had the 03 Fleetwood Rev. Inside and plugged in to a 30amp 120 circuit for 2 months.
Getting ready to take off next Monday and noticed that the battery state on the indicator was not showing full charge. And the load meter is not showing anything. No lights on at all.
The xantrex is showing 30 amp in breaker amps and a <10 and 11.5 DC volts. And it is on invert.
Help.

SNIP.

In general Winnebago's don't unless the engine is running. The battery disconnect relay completely isolates the battery from the converter when in the disconnect position
You can see the way they wire it below:

This diagram may make it a little clearer because it shows where the converter ("labeled to house house 12 vdc")

Start tracking power.. Your Xantrex settings (Would that be a Prosine) are the same as mine.. Those really do not mean much. But I'll translate them for you.

Breaker Size 30 amp: If the load on the inverter plus the converter's draw starts to climb much over 25 amps start throttling the converter to prevent the click of darkness from the breaker (Which by the way is elsewhere, your master breaker panel).

Battery voltage readings look like ALARM settings, BEEP and alert to voltage outside that range.

now... From the default menu go to the one that shows AC and DC in and out (I think that is Menu up one time)

Do you have AC in? NO, check the master breaker
Breaker good.. Check the outlet you are plugged into (TT30 outlet)
Good power at the outlet Start the tracking process.

Look for loose screws and bad connections.. First place is the junction box on the inverter, second is the breaker box.

Been there, trust me I've been there.

Dennis,

Yes, irrespective of switch position, when the inverter/charger sees 120 VAC from either shore power or generator, it automatically does two things. "Passes through" the 120 VAC to all circuits downstream of the inverter/charger AND turns on the battery charger section. The switch only functions when no external source of 120 VAC. In the off position, the inverter is not in the "standby" mode which does take a small amount of power. In the on position, the inverter is in standby mode and ready to power circuits downstream of it.

In troubleshooting, I would start by turning off and back on the 120 VAC breaker in the main breaker box that feeds the inverter/charger. If that does not do it, would check the breaker(s) on the inverter/charger itself.

Sounds like an issue with the charger section of the inverter/charger. Inverter switch should have no impact on charger function.

You are correct, of course, Brett. However, if his inverter is ON, he may be drawing 120VAC juice from somewhere. If he's plugged in, the inverter should be OFF as the coach would get it's 120VAC needs from shore power. The fact his inverter is on leads me to believe he may have a problem either with his transfer switch or the 120VAC feed. Does that make sense to you? A lot depends on his charger also. If it's not a 3 stage charger it may not charge with the batt disconnect off, as it may only charge the starter batts..more info from the OP is needed....Dennis

With the unit plugged in, and the switch (if equipped) closed, measure the voltage at the battery terminals. If it's not about 13.8 volts or higher, a converter malfunction is the likely culprit.

To troubleshoot the converter:
1. Disconnect AC shore power and the negative battery terminal.
2. Remove the converter from it's enclosure. But do not disconnect the electrical connections.
3. Check near the 12V output leads on the converter for any fuses. Check them visually and with your ohm meter to make sure they are not blown.
4. Carefully reconnect to AC shore Power.
5. Place your volt meter leads on the 12V output terminals and verify that there is DC voltage. If not, the Converter has malfunctioned and needs to be replaced.
6. If there is DC voltage at the converter, then you need to trace the wiring from the converter to the battery to find out where the disconnect is. Likely culprits are fuses, relays, open connections or cut wires.

If you are not comfortable doing these checks, have an electrician do them or take the unit to an RV service center for evaluation.

The store / use switch has been off for a long time.
The outlet that the coach is plugged into is hot.

The inverter has one lite on steady and the one next to it is flashing once per second.

Got power at the 30 amp plug?
Any AC power anywhere?
Does the inverter automatically charge, does it have to manually be set to charge?
Blown fuse or tripped breaker in or out of the charger?
How old are the batteries, when is the last time you checked water and connections?

Was battery disconn. Switched turned off?
Batteries do not charge in off position.

Switch on invert? Invert makes 12 volts into 110 volt on a few outlets.
