not getting cold

My fridgerator works great when rv is plugged in but when on propane it does not get cold It is a nor cold fridge I can see pilot but that's it I don't hear any burners it is in a 2000 cruisemaster after running for about 10 minutes diplay show ( n)
  • Start with the "burner area tune-up" as described in your refrigerator owners manual (and many other places).

It doesn't take much debris in the burner tube to make the flame too small to do an adequate cooling job.

Also, it takes 24 hours for both freezer and refrigerator to come to temperature on an absorption refrigerator. Has it been long enough?

Sure, it could be a bad cooling unit, but start with the easy (no parts and no special tools needed) stuff.
  • 1. Dirty Burner
    2. LOW LP pressure
    3. It is NOT called a pilot light. It is called the burner flame. Pilot lights LIGHT the actual burner flame on appliances that have Pilot Lights. Refers above 6 cubic foot built in the past 30 years do not have pilot flames. Doug
  • If the pilot is not adjusted properly it can build up a lot of carbon in the chimney and that will cut the cooling power. See how much carbon you can get loose and then see about adjusting the air for the pilot.
  • There are no 'burners', just the pilot light. That's all that's usually needed to cool down the fridge on gas..

Not sure why it won't cool if you see the flame?

  • What kind of refrigerator is it?

    How old?

Can you hear the gas come on when you switch to gas from electric?

Did it ever work on gas?
