Old-style gray water valve - parts source?

So I was closing my gray water valve and suddenly it got really easy to turn. Something obviously broke inside it. It's mostly closed, with a little bit of water running out, and will now neither close all the way nor open up again. The knob just spins and spins. Which is a good segue to my question: are parts available for these old, spigot-type valves? The black tank is the standard cutter-type valve. I'm afraid I may have to replace both valves which would be a hassle. If I could get parts for the existing valve (I suspect the stem snapped inside) that would be best.

A google search only has yielded the newer-style valve assemblies with cutter-type valves on both black and gray feeds.
  • If not Tiffin you might try Mckinney RV which is located across the street from the Tiffin service center in Red Bay. McKinney buys "all" of the Tiffin surplus parts, plus does some warranty service.

How about This 1-1/2" Flo-Control Gate Valve.

That's the one!!! Thanks for that.

I probably should have searched harder (or waited for advice here) but...I ordered a Valterra Bladex valve. It was $10 with free Supa Sava shipping (ordered some waffle mix, too - I love Amazon). Also had to order 2 slip hub fittings that brought the cost up to $19. Either way I have to hack the old valve out.
  • Thanks. I neglected to mention that it's a 1984 rig. There's a chance Tiffen might have the part, but not likely.

I looked all over it with a mirror and there is no brand name on the valve. The only thing I was able to discern with certainty is that it's 1 1/4" ID pipe. So, I can order up the valve body and flanges. I'll get the little bit of pipe and cement I need at Lowe's.
  • Send that Pic to Tiffin (Allegro). The odds are they still have one. Doug
  • This is what I need. The threaded rod that moves the "knife" up and down snapped. I can't see the top of the valve, but running my fingers over it I can tell there's writing on it. The black water valve is a Thetford 01447. I couldn't find a Thetford valve that resembles my gray water valve. Maybe I can get up there with a mirror to see the brand.

Looking at it harder, I have plenty of room to splice in a new valve. The gray and black water valves are not integrated like I thought. There's enough of a run of pipe before and after the valve to splice in a new valve and slip joints.

  • Is there a brand name molded onto the valve? Can you post a picture?

Have you looked at the various Flo-Control and King 1-1/2" gate valves? Does it matter to you if it is PVC or ABS?
