Oregon to Reno ....
Planning a trip from Bend, Oregon to Reno, Nv in October. Hwy 199 looks townless and mountainess. Anyone give me visibilty as to what to expect? Thanking in advance

As a really nice alternative, SE from Lapine to Lakeview and 395 south from there. Although high desert plateau there is essentially only one pass just before Summer Lake. Nice quiet drive with very little traffic.
