Ovens in DP's, or lack thereof

We opted for the dishwasher instead of the oven. No regrets whatsoever.

The micro/convection oven has worked out well, although we don't know everything about it yet. I like it well enough to know that if/when we have to replace one of the S&B m/w or ovens, it will be with a micro/convection.

Are the two-burner cooktops you're looking at induction models?

The microwave/convection oven cooks everything - breads, desserts, whole turkey breast, roasts. We much prefer it over the old-type oven which always seemed to cook unevenly. I think once your wife began using one she'd love it.

We have an oven and it's used mainly as pan storage. We cook a lot. We bring our Breville electric convection oven and keep it on the table. It takes 14" X14" pans.
Two burners wouldn't bother me. I would add 1-2 induction burners. They work great outside too. Wind proof.

I don't like our current induction cooktop because it doesn't have a set-by-temp feature. Just the number settings 1-2-3-etc. The heating "element" cycles on and off, like a micro does when you have it at less than full power.

We're considering replacing it with a PIC that can set/properly maintain a specific temp. And being able to use it outdoors would be good, as Katuna noted.

x2. I have baked bread, cookies, and cakes; roasted pork loin and chicken; baked stuffed shrimp; cooked lasagna, and made homemade pizza. We use it as an oven way more than as a microwave. I think the only reason I will have a conventional oven if I ever get a s&b is for turkey - convection/microwaves aren't big enough for a full sized turkey. Turkey breast is doable though...

I see no need to give up the tried and true things you like. If you find the right rig you ought to be able to swap in a cooktop/oven unit, even if you have to visit a RV recycler to find it. PPL Motorhomes sells them.

Just wondering has DW ever tried a convection microwave? They actually do a pretty good job and I'm not talking about heating frozen MRE's.

So far as I know, all the ones without a gas oven have a combination microwave/convection oven. We have drawers in the space where an oven would otherwise be, and we appreciate the extra kitchen storage it gives us.

We also have a 2-burner LP stove. Our only complaint with it is that the two burners are too close together, which makes it difficult to use 2 pans of any size concurrently. We solved that by buying a countertop induction cooker and a set of induction cookware.

I think a lot of Class A owners eat out frequently and don’t cook too much. We prefer to eat in most of the time due to special dietary needs.

Ours came with an icemaker. For us, a dishwasher would be handier, but that choice depends on your lifestyle. It seems that dishwashers are more common in fifth wheels and ice makers more common in coaches. You can often add what you want, or switch out something.

It is possible to find some very nice, well-kept, older DPs in the 35-36 foot range for a fair price. Take your time and do your homework while looking.

A couple of months ago I was searching for a certain MH and found about 12 of them on one of the online sites. I noticed that about half of them had ovens and the other half didn't. As I remember those with were in the east, south those without we're in the west.

Our next unit will be without if it is an option. Rather have the storage and counter space. I've owned four motor homes and have never used the oven, can't ever remember using the stovetop either.
