  • I don't know about close to the beach, but the Monterey County Fair Grounds has a parking lot type rv park that might work.

    I have never stayed there.

  • You can walk to the beach from Marina Dunes RV park. About 1/4 mile via a sandy trail. It does back up to Hwy 1.
  • For the last three years we’ve come from Minnesota to the Monterey area to be by family, in fact we’re there right now. We’ve not found any RV parks on the beach like we would find in Florida. Marina Dunes in Marina is close, but doesn’t have a few of the bay it’s about a 20 minutes drive to Cannery Row. KOA in Moss Landing is in a harbor nice but again you can’t see the water and is about 35 minutes to Cannery Row. This year we found a new great campground in Greenfield, CA. It’s about an hour drive, but the park is outstanding. It’s called Yanks RV Resort, exit 295 on 101 at Greenfield. 855-926-5778 www.yanksrvresort.com.

All of these you would need a car to get down to see the water, but we’ve not found any that you can see the beach.
  • There are some campgrounds around Big Sur for RV camping, tent and they also have cabins.
