problem with slideout

UPDATE...

well the problem has been located. it seems water has found its way into the slide controller located in the first bay on drivers side of unit. when the unit was turned off, it sent power to the controller and caused the slide to move out. as a result the slide motor is completely burned out. it looks like it was in a major fire! so glad that it confined itself to the motor and did not set the unit ablaze on the side of the road or at the fuel pumps. someone was looking out for us that day.
anyhow, now we wait for new motor and controller. while waiting, I will completely seal the area that leaked causing the problem.

My slides use two motors. They each have a lock/unlock lever to disengage each one for manual operation. If yours has two motors, make sure that both motors are getting power and that both motors are working to pull the slide in or to extend it. Mine also has a control panel that supplies power to the slide motors. Check all of the fuses in the entire circuit.

this is what we thought the problem to be since it was the first time driving in the pouring rain.
was hoping someone may have encountered this and could give a starting point for solution.

My guess would be thatyou got water into one of your electrical connections and is causing a short. It will probably quick acting up after a couple of days when it dries out. I would find any connections exposed to the elements that operate that slide. Once you locate them, clean and reseal the connection.

Don in my coach it is recommended that you start your engine when retracting or extending the slide. It has to do with running a solenoid!
