Propane not flowing

Did you check the gas detector near the floor, if is not on the gas won't flow.

If it has the OPD valve it (the automatic OPD valve) may have closed if you opened the hand valve too quickly. Try turning it off... wait for a about 10 seconds... if you hear a slight 'click' that will mean the OPD valve has dropped. Then try turning it on very slowly so that the pressure on both sides of the valve can equalize and try the stove/hot water tank again.

The attendant normally shuts off the service valve at the tank while refilling, are you sure its been turned back on?

The OPD on a permanent ASME tank is part of the fill port, not the service valve as it is on removable DOT cylinders. Your advice is good, but it applies to the high flow preventer valve in either case, not to the OPD. The high flow preventer is part of the POL service feed connector.

Sometime it takes a little time for propane to get to the stove.

I agree with the LP detector theory. See if it will reset and let us know what you find.

If it is turned on at the tank and the detector is on then the pressure regulator may be bad.

Several... First. Modern tanks have several safety features

1: You must connect the hose/regulator FIRMLY, (hand tight on the big plastic nut or wrench tight on a brass fitting There is a valve inside the fitting that is opened by the properly tightened connection. if it is not tight, it won't open.

2: Open the tank valve SLOWLY (Just till you hear it hisss) then as it stops making noise, open it farther and farther till it is full open.. Otherwise you may trip an excess flow detector shutting off gas flow.

If your Explosive gas detector has an on/off switch and there is an electrical solenoid valve in the gas line.. See above response about the detector.

Oil in the regulator is a problem, clogs up the regulator requiring replacement.

Inspect the connector.. Modern ACME connectors have a plastic part that can melt if it gets too hot.. This causes the "probe" part of the fitting to retract, closing the valve I mentioned above and stopping gas flow.

That's about as far as I can go (POL (Prest-o-lite) Connectors do not have that plastic feature)

Thanks for your suggestions turned out the fume detector was turned off while I've had two 5th wheels in the past this is my first motor home and not being new I've had a few issues to deal with couple that with lack of knowledge about them well I leave it to your imagination LOL. Thanks again Joe
