Pump Opinion - a better one worth it?

I went to Lowes purchased a 30 in white supply line with 1/2 in fitting on each end and a brass coupling lots quitter now. It is the same thing Camping world sells but cheaper.

Wow! incredible outpouring of info and advice.

I've stopped looking at hardware and more at the hardware under the bed. I'll look for stuff to isolate the pump from the resonating chamber that is the main bed.

Carefully considering all of the advice. I'll get back to this string once I figure out what to do and how it worked.

I have found that many newer RV users complaint about the water pump noise. This includes myself as I considered changing mine to quiet it down after we got our MH. Over time though I don't even notice it anymore.

Try isolating tubing from tank to pump and pump to water system with foam rubber to stop rattling. If you want to upgrade to a larger, higher amp-draw, pump you may need to add an Intellitec controller device to handle the increased current. I recently installed a new 5.3 gpm Aquajet pump, and fiddled with cusioning tubing. It's not really quiet but water pressure for showers is lots better.

Some one. Told me if the water lines were tubes, u might be able to cut down the noise with some flex hose water lines, and now it's all Happy-camping

If we allow our fresh water tank to run out of water we will have severe pump noises (this after we refill the refresh water tank) until all the air has been sucked out of the (very long) line between the tank and the pump. Sometimes I can clear it up by opening all taps so as to have the pump go full flow, sometimes this does not work, probably has something to do with the attitude of the RV at the time. My solution is to never let the fresh water tank go empty.

The only time I could imagine the pump being too noisy is if someone got up in the middle of the night to use the bathroom. If that's the case, you might be better served by an accumulator, if you have the room to plumb one in. It might keep the pump from cycling every time the toilet is used.

Some people keep a gallon jug of water in the bathroom and use that to flush the toilet during quiet time.

The noise is usually not the pump, rather pressure pulses from the pump being transmitted to a sounding board somewhere in the water lines. Especially Winnebago installations, which isolates the pump itself, on a pad, and usually connects flex lines to the pump so that pump movement is not passed on. This leaves only pulsing in the water itself to transmit vibrations.

I think the more expensive pumps you are looking at work the same way, not inherently making for a quieter water system.

If the noise occurs when water is drawn anywhere, the culprit may be a line close to the pump laying loose against something. If only one faucet, then look at the lines to that faucet as possible culprits.

Like others have said, it may not be the pump.
