Purchase of A Used (New To Me) Monaco 2006 vs 2010

Hello Everyone,

Thanks for all your feedback on my last question. It was much appreciated.
I have been doing a great deal of research and speaking with people.
I have been told by several people that it would be better to purchase a Monaco that was built prior to 2010 and their bankruptcy.

This being the case I am looking at the previously mentioned 2010 Monaco Dynasty Monarch or a 2006 Monaco Executive Commander. Are there any of you out there that have owned either or both that have any advice or knowledge?

Obviously I am doing all the mechanical and other due diligence in advance of purchasing either coach.

Thanks in advance.

For the $60K savings I'd go with the 06 EXE, especially if it had the DD engine as it is what I'd look for IF I had to replace my 04 Dynasty. In 07 there was a big increase in the amount of pollution things on diesel engines although Monaco was good about buying up extra 06 engines for later years production... probably more for the price savings over the extra pollution devices/maintenance.

On March 5, 2009 Monaco filed for Chapter 11 bankrutpcy. On April 24, 2009 Navistar bought the assets making it likely a 2010 coach was actually built in 2008 and could have sat for two years while the sale to Navistar was finalized.

06 $164K negotiable 39K miles. residential refrigerator
05 $130K and 32K miles.
This post is my opinion (free advice). It is not intended to influence anyone's judgment nor do I advocate anyone do what I propose.

Over on iRV2 there's a Monaco owner forum. You might pose the question over there.

I don't have an answer for you. But, you are doing it right. Asking lots of questions BEFORE you make the purchase.

Good luck and enjoy the search. Keep us updated.
