Quest QS53E distribution center

I have a quest distribution center as many motor homes have. I have all TV's connected to it. It works fine but I can't get digital channels with cable on my tv when running though it. I can however get digital channels with the antenna. I have tried all outputs and get the same results. I can take the main input from the cable coming into the coach and connect to the tv and get digital channels. Hook it back up to the quest distribution center and no digital channels. I went to camping world and purchased a new quest distribution center and it did the same thing. HELP!!!

Bsjones, I have the exact same situation... cable signal will not flow thru qs53e. Antenna and sat works fine. Looking for a quest contact number to call for tech support. If that doesn't work, going back to old bomb.

If the Quest box has a 12V connection on the back, this is for the OTA TV power supply unless this also has a DVD modulator and that's what the 12V power is for.
What I post is my 2 cents and nothing more. Please don't read anything into my post that's not there. If you disagree, that's OK.

I just purchase QS53E VCC the other day from C-World. I read the manual that came with it and I thought I read that no power hook up was needed when connecting to Antenna. I thought was due to the power going to the Antenna. Needless to say it didn't power up when I hooked it up, so I guess I need to find a hot 12 Volt connection?

Answer my question. Do you still have the original TV antenna booster connected. Also, the Quest, is it original or you replaced the old with the Quest. Doug

OK, lets explain the difference between Over the Air (OTA) digital channels and CABLE digital channels.
1. TV's have 2 modes for RF(Coax). CABLE and Air Antenna
2. Air Antenna digital are usually received as 2.1. in 1oths after the first number. If regular Analog it will not have the . 1/2/3/4 after the first number. You set the TV to Air Antenna to get these channels
3. Cable channels have been downloaded and re/sent as 1/2/3/4 and so on up to 138 or so channels whatever the Cable system has.
4. So, when trying to get CABLE, you MUST tell the TV you are on CABLER and set the TV to Cable and not Antenna.
5. You then go into the Auto channel search and download all available Cable channels. Same as Air Antenna search
6. IF you do not change the TV to Cable input, you will only get channels 2-13 on the cable. The channels above 13 will not be received or downloaded.
7. 2-13 are VHF channels and stop at 13. UHF is 14 and up, but UHF is NOT a digital/cable signal.
8. I have never seen a distribution box block out Cable digital channels.
9. You MAY have to turn the Antenna booster OFF to allow the CG cable signal to get to the Quest box and go thru it.
10. Do you still have the original wall plate TV booster installed? Doug

Okay, describe the cable channels coming in. What cable box, what cable service?

What happens if you connect the cable directly to the set itself and bypass the quest?
4 whopping cylinders on Toyota RV's. Talk about great getting good MPG. Also I have a very light foot on the pedal. I followed some MPG advice on Livingpress.com and I now get 22 MPG! Not bad for a home on wheels.

There is nothing in the Quest setup that should be causing this kind of an issue. If the dist. center has 12V power connected or an on/off switch (the 12V power for the OTA antenna) try turning it off. Otherwise the dist. center is really nothing more than an A/B switch.
