Rear AC not working

I have a 2009 Monaco Camelot, the ac in the bedroom has quit. I replaced the start capacitor today, the motor runs but the compressor will not start. I can hear it trying to start but after a few times the breaker trips. I replaced the breaker a few weeks ago. I have also taken a soft hammer up and "tapped" the compressor a few times (have seen this work with refrigerators), still will not run. Looking for any suggestions to try before I start pricing a new unit. Thanks for any help.
  • Thanks fellas
Pretty sure I got the wires on right, took a picture before disassembly. Did not notice any melted wires. So now start looking for a sale on Dometic ACs

If the capacitor was bad, it would NOT cause the breaker to trip. The fact that it trips the breaker points to a locked up compressor OR the 3 wires attached to the Compressor have melted and shorted. Check those wire connections. If GOOD, replace the unit. If melted/corroded, fix the wiring and retest. Doug

What Doug said..unless, or course, you messed up putting the wires back on the correct terminals.....Dennis

Both are in the same area.

If it was the compressor one. Then start your search for a new AC.
