Recommendations for House Battery Brand, Please

We have a 30ft Class C MH and need to replace the house battery. Since things change often, please share what you find to be the most durable sealed (non-AGM at this point) batteries. Thank you all!

Walmart Batteries are my choice simply because nearly anywhere you go in the country you are covered under warranty. We just replaced our original 2014 batteries with Walmart Deep Cycle. They were $81 each and were a HUGE upgrade from the old ones. We went as many as three days off grid with the kids and didn't run them down enough to notice. If I can get 4-5 years out of them, great... because at $160 total replacement cost they aren't that expensive.

Why are you avoiding AGM?

BTW the converter charging profile may have more effect on longevity than the actual brand of battery. Have you checked charging voltage gets up in the 14.4 volt range when charging a low battery?

i got maint free batterys at sears 2 for coach and have not had any issues plus dont have to worry about putting ater in them. Got a maint free battery for the chassis from autozone again no servicing issue. They are $$ but well worth it.

I have used wal mart DEEP CYCLE MARINE batteries for years not a problem. the ones in my boat are 5yrs old and still good. you have to do a little battery maintance on any battery ,clean post check water three times a summer. and install a cut off switch, your camper has one built in BUT it does not kill all battery draw ,a cut off switch in the battery box will kill all draw and the battery can sit for long periods of time and be ready when you are. wal mart good as any out there.for general rv camping.

For house batteries, if you can fit them 6 volt GC-2 batteries are the best bang for the buck, be they from a specialty store, or from Sams or Costco.
If you get 12 volt rv/marine batteries from a local helmart or other retailer, you will be limited to 12 volt batteries which will start to degrade after only about a 25% drawdown.

Any well known brand like Interstate or Crown or even a Walmart special which I believe is East Penn. Just make sure of 2 things, one you buy it from a volume retailer and 2, the top has no dust on it.

Wet charged batteries begin their lifespan when the acid is added so if the battery is dusty, it's been sitting around slowly using it's life up, waiting for someone to buy it.

Volume retailers turn batteries quickly so you usually get a new manufactured one. The date code on the case means absolutely nothing, dust on the top does. The date code represents when the battery was sold and nothing to do with it's age.
