refridge goes to gas

My refrigerator keeps going to gas. I checked the fuse in the back and it was good. I'm plugged into shore and the "salesman switch" is on. I had the inverter off and nothing. Turned it on and nothing. what else should I try?

Thanks
Rico
  • I had the exact same problem, and I did slap myself. Doh!!
  • Thanks for the update..now go slap yourself up the side of your head....:B....Dennis
  • The fuse behind the fridge was the first thing i check. All my breakers are good. I did not find another fuse in the fuse panel for the fridge. I will do the blow dryer check when if stops raining.

    Thanks

  • First understand that your fridge has two operating modes:

    1. LP Gas and 12V DC(for electronics).
    2. 120V AC (shore power) and 12V DC(for electronics).

So assuming you're plugged into shore power and have a charged house battery it should run on electric. If not check for both sources of power at the fuse panel and breaker panel, and behind the fridge itself.
  • Salesman switch is 12 VDC. Nothing to do with your issues, since it works on propane.

Many 120 VAC outlets for refrigerators run through a GFI outlet. Check in bathroom, etc. to see if one is tripped.

Plug a 120 VAC light, hair dryer or other appliance into the refrigerator 120 VAC outlet and you will know if/when you have power there.
