Remorse?

How many miles a year, or months, do you plan on traveling each year?

if it is the stairs to the bedroom, get a large TT.

We have gone through the ranks from tent, popup, travel trailer, fifth wheel and just recently purchased a used DP. We have only been on 2 trips, but I think it is the greatest thing in the world. Our first trip was at a Walmart!!!, we have done it before, but nothing like pushing a couple of buttons and auto leveling, slide out, generator and Directv InMotion. All together and comfortable. I purchased an Aluminum Car Hauler for car or toys. I don't think I will ever want to go back.

I think we got a good deal or fair deal on our trade and purchase and hopefully will not get burned if or when we trade up.

About 5 vacations a year now - but when I retire in about 4-5 years - hopefully a lot more.

No its not stairs, more access to a bathroom.

When I jumped into the RV vacation life style I a hard budget and down payment available that I had to stay within. Knew what my loan terms were going to be and did an estimated depreciation scale against the loan. The used coach I found was under valued by the seller and met my budget requirements. Going into our sixth camping season and I'm still above water with the loan to value ratio.

Overall I don't worry about it. As long as the insurance value is enough to cover the loan balance I happy since we decided the coach fits our needs and we don't plan to buy a second for at least another five years. Plus I just got this one the way I want it. Don't feel like starting over.

The only time I have remorse is when something breaks. The shop says we charge $125 and hour for motorhomes,(regular rate $85 an hour) I say why, they say because it takes longer, I say well you charge by the hour so why would that matter, they say if you don't like it go somewhere else. So basically they don't want to work on it. I am still looking for that good shop.

I do most of the work myself but there are some things I cannot do. I think the maintenance and upkeep on a truck/fiver is a lot less than a MH. I just bought new tires at $400 each and that was Hankooks. Michelin's were over $600 each.

Other than that we love it.

If I had any doubts or concerns about signing, I would not.
Purchasing any RV and thinking ahead what you can or can not get out of in in the future would raise a red flag for me.

However, it's totally up to you and your decision alone. But just the fact that you are asking the question appears like you have some serious concern about signing.

Another factor for me is, we were already making payments not he 5er and still had 7 years left, got into the Class A DP for $75 more per month and had to start over but still cheaper than taking 2 week vacation per year... and we can go just about anywhere we want...

Also, keeping in mind, depending on your tax situation, you can deduct the interest on the entire DP purchase.
