- Pangaea_RonExplorerI have also seen a horizontal 1x2 with a beveled top mounted to the wall (sloped back towards the wall), and a reverse piece mounted to the picture. Often a bit of glue was used. There are also extruded aluminum pieces that do a similar thing.
Aluminum clips - luvlabsExplorerInstead of a hacksaw blade, which will mess up your wall, use a piece of monofilliment fishing line. It will cut through double stick tape and not mar the wall.
- ThecabinonwheelExplorerSome good ideas here. I will give the hacksaw blade a shot.
- PepperoniExplorerIt may be double-sided foam tape. I would slip a fine toothed hacksaw blade behind and saw it off. I would expect a 1x1 inch square in each corner. The good thing about the hacksaw is that it will cut nails, too.
- BarneySExplorer IIIMine was glued on to the wall. I used thin picture hanging wire, fastened a couple of "handles" (actually wooden sticks) to the wire and then slipped it behind the picture and used a sawing motion. It finally came off after a bit of semi hard sawing.:)
Barney - GeocritterExplorerInteresting thread, I have a mirror I'd like to take down and am facing the same problem. Believe me, it ain't Velcro tabs holding it to the wall!
Steve - hipowerExplorerQuite possibly velcro tabs were used. I've seen that at times over the years in different units.
- ThecabinonwheelExplorerthanks. I did look for screws but the sliding door travels right behind so there is no frame.. I can pass the blade of a carving knife behind most of the picture. I wonder if they would have used glue.
- Gee you are up late!!
It is likely screwed on to the wall. Look close at the framework to see if you can spot a couple screws, going through the frame into the wall.
