Removing headlight assembly on Newmar KS DP

I needed to replace the F L turn signal lens on my 2001 Newmar Kountry Star. Lots of suggestions on what the lens mfgr might be but none on how to get the daggone thing out. With some help from Newmar customer service here it is should anyone else need the info.
Raise and prop up the front hood, using a pole or something other than the support strut. There is an access hole to a screw holding the light bezel in place on either side. On the driver side the access hole is the retaining hole for the hood support strut. The passenger side has a grommet over the corresponding hole.
From the back there are bolts, 2 on top, 2 on the bottom. Ignore the top screws. Those furled nuts are for directional adjustment of the lens. Remove only the bottom two nuts. From the back and to the outside of the assembly there are 2 (on mine) large screws. You'll need a good worklight and a flexible back to find them. Remove them and the light bulbs and the entire bezel and assembly will fall out.

I'm still looking for the lens mfr but have asked Newmar and will search using the DOT # on the lens.
  • I found a replacement set of lenses for my rig on eBay for $120, and when they are delivered I will update on how well they fit. The vendor name is Lighting 4U.
  • What vehicle did the headlight assembly come from? Most were designed for another vehicle so if you know that you can do a search online to find out how to change the lens. Mine happen to be from a BMW sedan. Yours may be from a Ford, or other vehicle.
