replace fuel pump

My weak fuel pump needs replacing on my 2000 Coachmen Leprechaun. I am debating weather to drop the tank or cut a hole in the floor. My question is, anybody know how the floor is constructed. Is it all wood or is there metal behind it. And has anybody cut the hole ????

And don't cheap out on hoses. Get hoses that hold up to todays cheap gas

Drop the tank!
Ypou can then look and replace rubber fuel lines and look for damaged wiring.

Drop the tank. In fact to do it right, drop the tank, remove the in tank pump, make sure the pickup is still at the proper depth, put things back together, and find a suitable place to mount a inline high pressure pump and fuel filter.
