Replacing air bags

Class A motorhome on a Spartan Chasis. Has anyone replaced the air bags? Was it expensive to have done?

I have a different opinion then the others here. I believe in preventive maintenance. You should first consult your manual for this type of maintenance, if you don't have manual call the manufacture - Spartan. If it were my coach and the bags were 13yrs old, I'd change them. This is a lot easier done when you don't HAVE to do and a lot less STRESSFUL. If your on the road on vacation or during some form of travel and one or so bags fail, then you put yourself and your family under some undo stress. As well as a vacation/travel interruption.

there about 265$ each.most likely made by Firestone. If your worried about a little surface cracking don't be as that's pretty normal when they age
  • These bags are pretty forgiving-- unless you can see any evidence of cord (most are two layers with cord in the middle) not sure I would replace them.

Of course, if damaged, that is another story. Most are fairly common and similar to those used on OTR trucks.

I would start by getting the part numbers from Spartan.
