- Bill_SatelliteExplorer III did not think to take before pics but my wife clicked a couple. I know Ernie did, so he maybe he will follow up.

The orignial Green carpet
New step in place (wood and carpet trim with rubber tile tread.
New carpet in the living room. Wife and new kitten not included!
New carpet in the bedroom/bath area. Base around shower was carpeted as well. Ernie showed me how to clean it up after carpet was removed and we have a much better look.
New carpet bedside. Note wood floor trim. That used to be carpeted as well. It was cleaned up, stained and sealed for a much better look. - timmacExplorerPics of his work would be nice..

- Bill_SatelliteExplorer IIOMG! I bow before Ernie! Not only did he get the job done in 3 days (5 was what we expected), it came in under budget despite the much more expensive carpet we ordered. It is hotter than Hades here and our air could not keep up with the door being opened so much but Ernie powered through and did an amazing job. I don't know who will be replacing this carpet 20 years from now but I can attest to the fact that not having Ernie to do it will be a great loss.
Thanks Ernie! - Bill_SatelliteExplorer III should have mentioned the quality carpet as well. We went to a local carpet store and found a high quality (and expensive!) carpet and Ernie installed a higher quality padding as well. The carpet had to be special ordered but they were able to get it in a 15' width (12' standard) which will allow for no seams anywhere which we like. You do end up with a bit more waste but as the last carpet of this quality lasted 22 years the added cost for added quality I think it's worth it. The local carpet company could also bond some of that scrap if we wanted to use that as a runner in the kitchen area which is tile.
- smlrangerExplorerWe also just had the carpet replaced in our coach with new, better carpet. We considered engineered wood or even luxury vinyl planks but decided to use a nice grade of Stainmaster carpet. It looks really nice and feels great under foot.
- Bill_SatelliteExplorer III am currently at Ernie's and just finished up day 2. I can already tell you that Ernie is at least as good as others have reported. He asked if we really liked the tiles used on the entry stairs and I said no and he had a suggestion to which he brought out samples showed the layout and we were sold. That's done as well as the new carpet in the front and it is completely awesome. All tear out has been done, some repairs made, some additional modifications suggested and accepted and we are completely happy. It's still going to be a couple of days to get done but we are back in the coach by about 4pm with 50 amp hookups (needed in this 100 degree Texas heat (or is that 1000 degree!).
Ernie even let me use some tools to fix an issue which has existed for years and now with some of the coach apart I could fix in a matter of minutes.
He has been the most professional RV "expert" I have ever dealt with and I am looking forward to posting before and after pictures when he is done. He does wood or carpet (no tile or similar material). We struggled with the choice between going to wood or staying with carpet but we knew we had made the right choice to stay with carpet when I got out of bed and stepped onto the wooden floor waiting to be carpeted. Not only will it be substantially warmer during our Winter travels (yes, we go to cold places from time to time) but it is so much more comfortable on my bare/sock feet.
More news later when we get it all done. Plan ahead, however, Ernie books up long in advance so you are likely not going to get it done this year if you don't already have an appointment. - ernieeExploreronly 45 years of flooring installation under my belt- and can still walk
- sdianel_-acct_cExplorerErnie is the best! You can stay in Oak Creek RV Park if you need a place to overnight. One of our favorite parks!
- Bill_SatelliteExplorer III hope everyone is right about that. I have an appointment with Ernie in a couple of days. I can let you know how my carpet replacement goes. He certainly has an excellent reputation.
