We have done this for three severe storms since we have had our RT in the past two years. When we heard Sandy was coming we charged the batteries to full the day before and made sure we had gasoline in the tank to use the generator. We had no electricity in the house for a week and no gas stations that were pumping gas. We could not cook in the house but we could cook on the propane stove or use the microwave in the Roadtrek. We were able to get by with a combination of using the inverter (to conserve gasoline) and the generator and made it through with a little sanity.
