Rexall Aerbus opinions

My 98 Dolphin went up in flames this past Sunday. I'm looking to replace. My budget is limited and I don't know, yet, what the insurance will reimburse me.

Today I looked at a 96 34' Rex hall Aerbus. It has only 34k miles, new tires. It's in great condition for an almost 20 year old coach. It has a Ford chassis with the 460 V8. Any general opinions?

We owned a Rexhall Airex many years ago. A good coach & a good company (at the time) --- Loved those 17 years of RV experiences. We logged well over 130K miles on the original 460 carbureted engine & two C6 transmissions.

That being said, let’s 'circle back' to this particular 20 year old vehicle with only 34K miles & new(?) tires.
A few concerns come to mind:
1 It probably tends to get plenty hot in Texas, huh?
2 Just how “new” are those tires according to the date stamp?
3 At the time, our rubber hoses, & belts, & chassis components really hated inactive parking for ANY extended length of time.

We have one, love ours. Built solid and seems easy enough to tinker with. Its a 95, Ford 460.

Rexhall's are the sleepers in the RV industry. Solid roof, metal framing,
I had zero issues in the 7 years I owned one. Will probably buy another.

Bought a 95 35ft Aerbus as a salvage. 6 months to put it together. DW and I love it. Lived in it for a full month last year with no problems. When we upgrade we will try to get another.

I own a 1994 Rexhall Aerbus and love it.

We own a 1997 Rexhall 3250 with a single slide; Ford F53 chassis, 460 cu in engine. Purchased from the original owner in 2006 with 18,500 miles and have been very pleased with it. I installed a complete Banks Power Pack, new brakes and hoses, new redesigned in-tank fuel pump, new tires, and changed all fluids shortly after purchase. Now we have a little over 42,000 miles on it, including a trouble free 8200 mile trip to Alaska and back in 2007. I added a larger transmission cooler in 2012 to keep the transmission temperatures more reasonable during mountain driving. Only routine maintenance done each year. Access to electrical and audio/video cables is also very easy when adding a rear view camera, audio/video upgrades, etc. I do all of the maintenance and upgrade work. Has never let us down on a trip. Tow a 1999 Toyota RAV4, 4 down, most of the time.

Never have owned one. As a Boeing employee, my main gripe was the name, even though the spelling wasn't quite the same as our European opponent!

Glad everyone is OK, I had a 1994 36ft Rexhall, Great motorhome, I had the full Banks kit, including transmission module, I towed 1996 Grand Cherokee and had plenty of power.

My first motorhome was a Rexhall Aerbus. It was a 2001 model. I didn't keep it long before getting a bigger DP, but I liked it when I had it. One of the reasons I picked it was because it had a steal frame and a one piece fiber glass roof.

I had a 32ft 98 Aerbus for several years. Probably one of the best coaches I have owned. Only reason I sold it was the wife wanted slides and we did not have any.
