Road side assist

Has FMCA gone nuts with there roadside assist 159$ Good Sam is half that for the same thing! Whats up is FMCA trying to loose more members!
  • No its for 1 year to new members only then the next year it goes up, I also have it. As far as the way they do it all company's contracts with towing firms all the same company's so you get whom ever. I have switch to different company's and gotten same tow company.
  • One thing to be careful of also is the Good Sam ad for 59.95 is only for six months, not the year most services price includes!
  • Coach Net 7 years and still going strong. Never any problem with non service or long waits.

you get what you pay for. GS road side

Click the link and then the drop down menus, set to 12 months and read the non service posts.
  • It might be nuts, but we just had my DD's tiny Chevy Spark towed to the dealership, cost more than that and they sent out the smallest tow truck I've ever seen to do the job. Like most insurance, appears to be a waste of money until you really need it. I personally would have more faith in FMCA than anything related to CW/GS, for us the price difference is nominal, what I would spend on a decent dinner for my DW and I or half a tank of gas for our rig.

They are all about the same price, yes GS has a sale now but there plan for RV and car is regular $239.00 and FMCA is $159.00 and Coach Net I think on my renewal will be somewhere around $229.00 + or -

So go with the cheap on for now and see how it goes.

    Hi,

Lots of horror stories about Good Sam not being able to source help for RV'ers.

I have heard them as well but I have a 40' bus conversion that requires a heavy duty tow truck. In that last 10 years or so we have been towed 3 times without issue. Only once did we get charged anything and that was because I wanted to be towed to a specific shop and that was 7 miles farther than the closest shop. My choice to pay the extra.
  • It's service insurance
When did that ever go down in price ?
I have (3)Emg RA plans and still consider the costs to be worth it, the yearly costs are still cheaper than even one TOW of this 36ft class A , 2020. saw 2 tire related RA calls, Nov 2019 was a short TOW, when it suddenly stopped running and would not restart, turns out the ignition module died , $80 replacement part,
I have triple A, Good Sam ERS, and ERS with my progressive insurance policy, and I have had occasion to use each or them, if the first is backlogged, I call the second, and if needed I will call the third
$159 yr is still bargain compared to towing chargers
