We had a similar issue with our 08 Vac. Ours would lose the converter lock up in heavy rain. The engine would respond but the acceleration would be a lot slower. Crawl under your RV and inside the right frame rail ahead of the transmission you will see a large connector. This connector is for the transmission and engine. I wish I could remember how it comes apart but once you get it apart blow it out, rinse it with brake cleaner or WD-40 and blow it out again. You are doing this to prevent future corrosion. Once it is clean put it back together and wrap it in heavy (3 mil or greater) plastic and wrap it all with electrical tape. This I can guaranty you will eliminate future issues. All you are doing is waterproofing the connector but you want to be able to open it up later if necessary. You may come up with a better way but this worked for me.

X3. I had an issue this past spring where I lost all the dash components. The wire harness in my BCC compartment was getting wet from a small 1" hole allowing the front tire to just spray water in. Once things started to dry out the dash came back to life.
I've also read another that had a wire harness on the chassis that was getting wet at a connector causing problems.

your problems are not indicative of a diesel - as others have mentioned you've got something else going on.

ive driven in some torrential down pours (including one yesterday) and I've never had a problem (and my engine is up front).

Throttle control is electric. Maybe it got wet ??

I agree that wiring sounds the most likely. Most diesels, like ours, have the air intake up pretty high, and there are low areas in the intake line that allow any moisture to separate out and drip off so that it doesn't get to the engine. So I wouldn't think that would be very likely. In addition, most, if not all, air filters have a paper element that would not like water getting to it!!!
