RV Blows Tire Causing Roll-Over Video

Informative clip that has been around awhile. Definitely helps justify a tire pressure monitoring system's cost. Just bought a 2nd TST system for our B+ and Miata toad.

This video has been posted multiple times on the forum.
But, it's always a good reminder to check your tires.
Our Southwind is going in for new tires next week.

OMG not this one again.

The flat didn't cause the rollover, driving off the road did. Many people have flat tires while driving and they just stop and change the tire.

Actually, the guy had the motorhome up straight parallel to the cable guard..... the cables caught onto something under the motorhome causing it to flip (strictly my opinion).

If you use the start stop button on the video, you get an almost frame by frame view. Just as the guy gets through the cable guard, you can see the cable snap the ground (causing a dust cloud) as it catches under the motorhome. That's when the motorhome flips.

Also, watching the video 'frame by frame', you will see just as he passes the big-rig, he turns on his right turning signal which might indicate he only had one hand on the wheel. At that very second, the coach swerves to the left and you will see the tire carcass roll under the red truck.

The guy applies the brakes a couple of times as you can see the truck brake lights illuminate. Amazing that the red truck stayed attached and all four wheels on the ground.

Thanks for sharing, always a good reminder to check the tires and try to avoid this if you can. Looks like the guy did a pretty good job until the cable flipped him.

Aweful easy for me to sit here and say it could have been avoided. But there are times for me when we are cruising and easy driving. Maybe both hands on the wheel, but maybe taking a drink or itching my ear or just resting one hand. If you aren't expecting it, it isn't hard to jerk the wheel out of one hand.

When viewing it "frame-by-frame"/start-stop, it's obvious that the driver did NOT instantly hold the steering wheel at the appropriate/necessary angle of turn(slightly to the right) that it would've taken to maintain control.

Look, I'm only pointing out ONE of the most important steps to take at the first hint of a left-front tire failure. Yes, we've previously discussed the other important steps.

It remains to be seen if there's anyone who can actually do it.
