- Kayteg1Explorer IINever been fan of camping in the city and Modesto in the summer is not the place I would like to stay.
But just few miles away you have whole chain of lakes with campgrounds around with Don Pedro to be one of the famous.
Last time I was there was over decade ago and they did not have hookups, what is common in CA prime location.
You want RV park with hookups, you will stay close to the freeway. - supercubExplorerI live in Modesto and there's no RV parks here. I've never stayed in the Fairground in Turlocvk, but I believe they're just a grass area.
I've read reviews about a park at Modesto Reservoir about 15 miles east of Modesto. There's also a park along 99 highway north of Modesto near Manteca. I have stayed there, sites are very narrow. Check RV park Review. If you belong to the Elks, they do have a few hookups at their lodge here in Modesto. Don't bring your sweater, it's in the low 100's this week YUK :) - btilfanExplorer

Thanks The fairground website says they have rv sites, just doesn't describe them. I'm also looking at one called kit fox rv park just west. - Kayteg1Explorer IIWe had rv.net rally at kit fox park years ago.
It is nice park in the "middle of nowhere".
Party was great, but nothing to see around. - A_WilkExplorerWe stayed there last summer,(3nights) large open grassy area with
full hook up, no amenities, close to train tracks, but not to noisy
at night, Would stay there again if we're in the area. - btilfanExplorer
