Correction, Flying J is owned by Pilot not Petro.

I like rvtripwizard. It is not free but found it the best for a long trip with several stops.

Just going through the older posts and saw this thread. I've added RVParky to my list of usable sites. Here is my question...

Not sure about all that and let DW handle RVparky with her phone, but I use another tool, which is an old walmart atlas that has all the walmarts in the back and or front and even tells which ones are close to the interstate, with the address included and I do need an address for my super dumb TOM TOM GPS. Haven't been able to find a new one and they might have taken them out of print.

RVParky and Waze apps are valuable tools and can be easily accessed on android and iphones. Windows machines, who knows and better to use Google maps? RVParky tells where to stay, including Walmarts and rest areas, as well as campgrounds. Waze is better than google maps and doesn't use up data on your phone.
As for the Atlas, I can't read them anymore with the way roads are piled up on top of each other, nowadays. Even with their help, I need individual maps, rather than a traditional Atlas with the book center always blocking something out.

I used it for our 6000 mile trip from AZ to Maine and back, worked great. Used it for ideas for overnight stays along our route, and Flying J/Pilot for potential gas stops. But, I used Bing/Maps and Google Earth to help search for landmarks and get some ideas what I'll be looking for along the route. RVParky is new to us, but another worthwhile tool. They all work great. Have a great trip.

I'll 5th RVParky. I use it of course as an "outline" of the trip I'm taking, and also use several other sites including tripadvisor and google to get reviews on tourist spots.

I use RV Parky for finding places to stay, but then I also use GS Trip planner to look for rest stops and fuel stops (Pilot/Flying J) along the route). Couple those with google maps (satellite view) to get an idea of what places look like.
