RV Water Softener, salt free

Has anyone tried this water softener?

I like that it is salt free and has minimal maintenance.

  • Just another scam using pseudo science

From what I have researched, the resin is very short lived and the ongoing effects are so miniscule as to be ineffective in a real life situation (but sufficient to be able to back up the claims as to how it works).

It's the same resin as is used in the small disposable canisters that you can connect to your showerhead.
  • This is not to complicate your water softener selection; however, I use the Clearwave CW-125 Salt Free Electronic Water Conditioner.

Another unit that works on the same principle has made a significant improvement on my well water at home.

    Amazon sells this for 129.99.
  • Seems like a pretty "iffy" product. Most non-salt based softening that I've seen uses a poly-phosphate filter cartridge, I'd look into something like that if I were you.

I would think that if this product actually worked as described, people everywhere woukd use them instead of regular softeners.

    JMO.
  • Actually, there is a salt residual after regeneration. That's why there is a salt substitute, Potassium Chloride, for those on reduced sodium restrictions and use water softeners.

Know nothing about that one. But there is not salt in the other RV water softeners. The salt is used to regenerated the resin after the resin quits doing its job of making the water soft. After regeneration, the salt is flushed out of the container.
