Fire up the generator again, it appears your transfer switch did not go back to shoreline. It is possible you have one that was recalled due to several fires.
If you get 110 at least you can charge your batteries quickly without hammering your alternator.
In any case you probably have an EMS panel where there are lots of switches for water pump, etc and a readout telling you what is going on. What is it telling you?
If you are not comfortable with a voltmeter and testing AC circuits you may want to have someone do the testing. If you feel ok then this should be easy enough to sort out.
