slide out help asap

Bedroom Slide out won't stay in, in rest area outside of Des Monies. Headed to Indiana how to keep it in and if we open it at night will it stop at end so we can just push it back in.

Thank You
  • Some slides use a worm gear to run them in and out. Underneath, on the motors, there is a small lever that engages the gears or disengages the gears so that they can be extended by hand. Perhaps on your coach, the lever has moved and it is allowing the gears to be free and the slide move out. Be sure to check both motors if your slide is that type.
  • If it has an HWH slide. You are clse to Moscow and they can fix it up for you.
  • thanks for the helpful info, I have a 2x2, with me but no saw to cut it to length, so need to find a HD or Lowes and get a 2x4 cut.

  • Hit the closest lumber yard, Home Depot, Lowes or something along those lines and have them cut 2 x 4 to length that you can use on the inside to lock the slide in. Quick, and low cost. Basically making THIS until you can get the slide fixed.
  • My older coach had slide locks, put between the slider edge an the wall, you could try to wedge each side of the slider with something..
  • Look under the slide and see if there is a "brake lever" at one end or the other of the slide mechanism under the floor when extended. Sounds like the brake has somehow released itself. I had this happen one time with a Fleetwood class A, so it can happen, All I had to do was push the lever back to the brake on position and it stopped the slide from moving on its own.
